I'm not so sure it was audacious, though I wouldn't want to be responsible for someone making that move to have it go south based on my recommendation. However, I have exited a few bad holdings to go onto another stock to recover my losses and then some. One just hopes that the stock you left, should it move strongly upward, is met with a similar move upward in the new stock. Many experience just such a thing.
