Sum I was also pleasantly surprised by the move these days. How many times in the past we had similar news and not only did the sp not rise but on occasion fell a bit.
I currently hold all my shares from the last few years not having sold any But have not bought much lately either due to lack of investment funds. So much for me talking about averaging down - Would like to practice what I preach, lol.
BJay, we had indications of spectacular value in the ground for many a year and what happened?, we got twenty odd cents per share.
I also think that this stock one day will be at new record levels. Forget where it was 7 years ago, it will be higher ( just don't take it to the bank on my say so), question IS When.
I think Sum4 is much like me. I hedge agains all possibilities that I suspect.
For this instance and not just at this moment, I would sell no more then 10% of my hold because serious news could come at any moment so majority of shares are waiting for that.
The ten percent is just play money to be reinvested once and if sp pulls back. If it does not then into another stock it goes.
Should it go to near a dollar then I follow the 1/3 and 2/3 rule. Sell a third and wait if it continues to rise.
If it goes to 2 bucks sell 1/3 of that remainig 2/3s. If it continues to 4 bucks ( note doubling of sp ) then another sell, by this time I should have little left.
Of note, price rarely goes smoothly up, it takes terrific news for that to happen and if it does you are rarely in a position to catch the fast rising wave. On those circumstances I switch from a third into 2/3 mode.
Sooo, on any decent pull back buy back a third of what you sold.
Amount traded depends on amount/speed sp changes.
My 2 cents worth.
