Dear all,
Today in the Netherlands we hold still to think about how lucky we are to be living in a free country. It was back in 1945 when we my grandfather and mother were liberated and my father was born.
Amongst those we set us free were a lot of Canadian and American soldiers. The ones who survived may be your grandfather and may have told you how this war changed their lives and I suppose had a deep impact. For the ones who gave their lives I still hold a deep respect.
In my opinion it's still ag very good thing to keep this remembrance alive so the new and younger generation will know what's happened!
We come together in several places and let the silence "hit" us for 2 minuts.
Anyway I want to say THANK YOU and to the ones who helped us becoming a free country again.
Regards,
Jean
