i was listening to cbc fm radio 89.1 this morning and a trader from new jersey was being interviewed. he was saying that 70% of us trades are done by algorithm trading and the high frequency trading is killing the market.

he also mentioned that institution buying constitutes 14% of the market and is done by computers. he said they have minds of their own as they do their trading.

he said the markets are more like a casino crap shoot now, put in your chips and see what you can get.
