CTV is reporting breaking news that Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti has been named the new Minister of Northern Development and Mines following the resignation of Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci.

David Orazietti's office has not confirmed this news however. According to reports, the information was leaked through Premier Designate Katleen Wynne's Office but Orazietti has not received a call from her office - yet.

Bartolucci has been a long serving MPP for 18 years and will ride out the rest of his term but will not seek re-election.

His resignation followed another high ranking Liberal, Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance will be leaving office on February 14.
