The problem here is she is creating a PR nightmare and public sympathy for natives which is already low will crater even more.

It is time that politicians put on their big boy (girl) pants and seriously look at all native issues. For a few of them to be able to control the purse strings while the vast majority live in poverty is attrocious. Not sure what the solution is but for things to improve for their majority and for everyone else that has to deal with natives, things have to change.
