Ok, but some brokers will not actually buy the shares when you place an order but just keep you as wanting some on their books. They will wait for the sp to drop before they buy (i.e. they are shorting) and fill later.
In such a case you think you own but actually not and would not have the privilege of voting your hold, no dividends if applicable etc.

You may be aware of the above but there may be some here who are not, hence this posting and why I asked in the previous one.
