I received an email yesterday with information on the 4th annual North American Infrastructure leadership forum to be held in Denver Colorado, Oct. 16-18 2012. A while ago I registered for information regarding this forum. They sent me an update yesterday.
What caught my eye is the verbage below that I received in my email yesterday from this forum.

Northwestern Ontario, Canada, is home to the world’s richest gold mine, Goldcorp Inc.’s Red Lake Mine. Mineral- rich Northwestern Ontario boast’s 1.2 million ounces of annual gold production, but also a “stable” of 13 new deposits maturing, through the exploration process, to become producing mines between 2013 and 2017.
These 13 deposits represent mineral wealth estimated to have an in ground value of over $80B. Metals to be mined from these major exploration projects include: gold, chromium, copper, nickel, iron, palladium and platinum.
Infrastructure requirements, estimated by industry, are 573.5MW of power, 467 miles of electrical transmission lines, and 400 miles of road. A staggering 3,551 skilled tradesmen and professionals, will be required to operate 9 of the 13 new mines.
