Smelter means more jobs above what the mines provide. They want their cake and eat it too - that is a frequent phrase that I write pertaining to the natives.

More to the point - The natives that do not have a footprint in the Ring want at least the smelter in their area instead of in Sudbury.

Why should Webequie have jobs while further south and west be have nots. They are fighting for a share of the pie what ever and where ever there is possible to have.
