The Facility: The Ferrochrome processing facility (Furnace) is one of three compenonts of the Chromite project. The Furnace will refine ore and concentrate in an enclosed electric arc furnace, the final product (molten ferrochrome matte) will be shipped to customer base where required by rail.The facility will be located in Capreole, near the City of Greater Sudbury in Ontario, Canada. It is expected that workers at this facility will commute daily to the site from the surrounding areas(s). Anticipated employment opportunties may be between 350-450 jobs.

The Transportation Corridor:

The transportation corridor will move people and materials to and from the Mine Site. The Mine Site will have a load-out facility where haul trucks would be loaded with concentrate for transportation to the transload facility. The transload facility will serve as the unloading/loading point of the concentrate onto rail cars where it can be transported to the Ferrochrome Production Facility (Furnace) located in Sudbury or to world markets. The facility will also serve at the point of access and warehousing for materials and equipment transported to and from the Mine Site during operations For reference purposes the nearest communities closest to the transload facility are Aroland First Nations and Nakina. Anticipated employment opportunities may be between 250-300 jobs and will likely come from the neighboring communities, including Thunder Bay.

The Mine Site: Will be the location of the Mine and Ore Processing Facility and the associated material stockpiles and the tailing management area. The Mine Site will also include the facilities infrastructure to support the construction and operation of these major components of the project. The mine site will be a remote facility located approximately 350 km north of the town of Nakina and the Municipality of Greenstone. The closest major city is Thunder Bay approximately 2 hours away. Workers will be required to work rotations on a fly in - fly out schedule. Anticipated employment opportunities may be between 400-500 jobs.
