Message: Noront silence noted

It is particularly noteworthy that in light of recent statements by differing entities there has been nothing but silence from Noront, other than that they have a bunch more money to spend.

Aroland is suddenly rattling their (sabers?) as they appear to be left out of the picture completely (why would they expect to be in on it?). Their latest statement even tries to include Webequie as part of their group.

Webequie has quickly come out this morning saying they are their own entity and not part of any effort by Aroland. They also confirm they have been and continue to be part of ongoing discussions.

Cliff's is building their smelter, in Sudbury. They also indicate they plan to export as much or more concentrate than they will smelt. This absolutely requires a railroad. Simply no other way to do it. End of story. They also state they have agreement in principal for infrastructure from the Ont Gov't.

We know Cliff's won't own the railroad. It will be a separate entity, and the logical one will involve KWG to some extent or other. It will be built with public funds in some fashion, and ownership will involve First Nations to some extent or other.

A (public?) railroad will be nothing but good news for Noront. It will serve to decrease their cost to production by up to a third or more. It will also provide the opportunity to develop their own chrome facility or market it in some fashion. I simply cannot envision them spending 20 mill in last year or so to prove up 45 mill tons that have no value.

At any rate, it is now publicly stated that the Ont Gov't has an agreement in principal. You can bet that will be leaked, or somehow become public knowledge with a very short time frame.

Despite some posting to the contrary, the recent news is all positive for Noront. Slow market conditions at the moment merely means the bubble will be that much bigger when it bursts

My crystal ball says it will be a semi all-season road in from Pickle Lake, with construction starting next winter, and a rail link south beginning the year after.

Best regards

K
