It appears that the Cliffs smelter is not going into Greenstone, so Aroland are out of luck and are making a fuss over it. They are about 250 Km from the Ring so what are they to be consulted about?

Yes, a possible rail route could be going through some of 'their' land if they do not protest too much particularly with Cliffs. Aroland needs jobs associated with the rail construction and it's maintenance and not cause needless agravation. As for Cliffs smelter they are placing their foot where they have no business and the media should not be playing Aroland's misplaced cards.

As for Cliffs, they will not go away but these types of shinanigans from the natives will delay things and cause Cliffs to demand more concessions and guarantees from the governments before all is settled. Both governments and politicians should tell Aroland, and any other natives that are fairly distant to the Ring, to keep out and mind things closer to home.
