TSX is not only a commodity exchange but also conservative and read that as very cautious. Investing will flow into other exchanges before the TSX, but when the flow comes it is likely to be more profitable at the X due to the sudden wake up call. But enough about the exchange, we need to be aware of the global economic situation and what it implies for you and me The Small Investor.

US and Japan are deeply into debt, Europe is almost as much but they are making attempts to digging themselves out. Sooo I say Europeans are biting the bullet now but because of that should recover earlier than US.
The big question is - Why in a time of high commodity prices are mining shares so cheap?
I think it is all about the movement of money.
Because the above named countries are in debt and their money is being devalued the push is on to support those currencies and divert the ordinary investor from alternate (better) investments.
Hence real money such as gold and silver are to be discouraged as safe and profitable investment while the very currencies with little or no interest paid on them are to be encouraged.

That also applies to precious metal stocks and other real commodities. Investing in them would suck dry the weak and heavily debted currencies. The powers are working hard to convince you and me to invest in paper. Hype is everything and reality with truth are not to be trusted, Ha ha.

Venture exchange as a whole is ok to invest but for me greater emphasis is on precious metals, silver and gold in that order is my preferred choice. After that stocks like Noront due to the profit to expense ratio being very high and Golden Minerals (AUM) due to large silver deposit in relation to sp, these types are my second choice.

This is one of the best times for investing in a long time. ( Compare to pre 1980 time frame.) Cheers, Ed.
