The Matawa First Nations, an umbrella group that represents NINE smaller nations, took the regulators of Cliffs’ Big Thor project to federal court on Nov. 7.
Thank you 'Strategic Miner',i almost feel vindicated.
This is what i was talking about a while back, and was promptly attacked, for stating the facts that are now in the "ipolitics" report.
And that`s just ONE "umbrella" group, and all NINE in that group have to agree. How many more are out there ?
I also finally see for certain that DeBeers dose indeed have an "Impact and Benefit Agreement (IBA) with the Attawapiskat First Nation". Didn`t seem to matter when the native shut down DeBeers only road in and out a little while back. And that was AFTER DeBeers gave them free homes to live in
"What we want are actual agreements,” Raymond Ferris, who was representing the Matawa First Nations, told the committee Tuesday". There`s your fly in the ointment.Read...."how much is in it for us doing nothing"
And wait, they still haven`t pulled out that old original chestnut yet about the "woodland caribou".As i said before, let`s see how much THAT little ditty`s going to cost us
Read the report. It`s excellent. It sums up what i TRIED to say a while back about any major company wanting to develop the, quote, "Historically underdeveloped Ring of Fire",unquote. There`s your main reason again in a nutshell.Attack me for the 'ipolitics' report if you want,i really don`t care if you kill the messanger this time, because ' ipolitics ' is the messanger. They are dead on.
And if you want to know what one of your BIGGEST obstacles is,again, and all the problems major`s are facing, thus us too,it`s right there in the report.Don`t blame me,e-mail ' ipolitics ' if you don`t like them reporting the facts.
