I think that they can say what region is being drilled, when started to drill, how many drills or when finished.
What they can not say is what are the results, or even rumours of results, from those drillings.

If they finished drilling then why?

Drilling program very small? Started early? Or perhaps they have some results that warrant non continuation. That would mean a dud or results that they do not want to reveal at this time. Further drilling may mean that they should report findings because too many dollars used up to keep covered up.

Perhaps they found something interesting but it continues onto neighbour's property. Better to keep quiet and consider if they should do something about the neighbour first. Example, merge with or aquire neighbour.
Consider what happened when they tried to aquire Freewest.

Oh the possibilities. Sometimes they give me a head ache or push me to a bottle of vino. Cheers.
