I was on that fence last year. It is quite an expense for a regular, retired, Joe like me, to attend from Winnipeg. I went last year and did not know a single person there. Well, I had met Herb Wiebe once before at work, but didn't know he'd be there. I came away from it with many new friends......good people, I might add!
It really is a great event folks. The golf is fun and you can be a hacker like me and VOISEN, who is just as bad. I don't mind mentioning that because of his remarks about WINTERpeg last year when I golfed with him. Of course, he sank the putt on the putting green to break the tie and win it all so he is entitled to his opinion of my home town. He had to make one shot all day, didn't he? Joking....he was better than that and a treat to golf with.
Ken has put a tremendous amount of work into this event over the last few years to make it what it is. Do you want to see the person behind the avatar? Do you want to meet reps from the company's that you own shares of? Do you want to speak to people that you have only talked to on line?
Seriously, this is your chance. It will not go on forever. The whole area could be gobbled up one day and the tourney will die. It is a great chance to network, share info, meet new people and just have a great day. Don't golf? Well, the people there last year that didn't golf but attended the dinner to meet people felt the same way as me, it was a great day!
I am attending again this year and know that it will be the best ever!
Try to make it, as you will not be disappointed,
Brent
