Stakeholder dialogue ramps up on Ring of Fire

By: Northern Ontario Business staff

The Ring of Fire will be a hot topic in Thunder Bay next month with two major conferences held on the massive James Bay lowlands exploration camp.

The Ontario Mining Forum will be held June 14 at the Valhalla Inn.

Government, industrial and First Nations will speak on a variety of topics, including streamlining the regulations process, land use planning, financing mine projects on First Nations lands, Aboriginal-industry partnerships and building community infrastructure.

Among the speakers will be Joe Gaboury, Aboriginal affairs director for Cliffs Natural Resources, and Jacques Huot, vice-president for Corpfinance International Ltd.

Michael Fox of Fox High Impact Consulting and Sandra Gogal of Miller Thompson LLP are the conference co-chairs.
