"Anyone seeing such positives for both companies about such a merge?"
2 years ago, Watson, Novak, Frank and friends had plenty of time to discuss about everything about the RoF exploration...including the size of mosquitoes around McFauld lake! Sudden FWR chromite hit changed the pace of the talks. Noront missed FWR merger to Cliffs, KWG missed SPQ merger to Cliffs. Too much talk, too much wait, too much 'ifs', too late! If the guys up there don't move their **s*s right away, they're gonna miss it all! We're gonna miss it all! Go ahead, guys, it may still be too late, but please CONSOLIDATE and fast!!! These majors have their mouths wide open all around, don't you see? CONSOLIDATE whatever how you do it, and forget about the 'ifs' and 'buts', but try something to become stronger, failing which you will be swallowed like bugs from a frog's tongue!!!
I think that Frank Smeenk's last come out is an emergency warning, from an experienced and very clever man. Just listen Mr Hanson, and why not, Mr Voisin!!! Just try something guys!
Frank confirms that Cliffs will let KWG dry up. No good for any RoF players, including Noront:
"KWG's lawyers are Macleod Dixon, and its auditor is PricewaterhouseCoopers. Smeenk was not certain whether Cliffs Natural Resources, the biggest player in the “Ring of Fire” mineral discoveries area of McFauld's Lake, might be motivated to make another attempt at acquiring KWG. Cliffs already owns 17.6% of KWG, he said."
I hope our leaders will find a way to consolidate soon, but if KWG ask for help publicly, it may well mean that it has been refused privately. But if we do nothing, our portfolio will change color so fast that we will remain with peanuts from the bit-by-bit swallowing to come... I will email Noront right now to push in this direction! Experience is a powerful friend!
