My grandfather was half Assiniboine people from southern Alberta and left to build the highrises in Edmonton and Calgary. Worked hard and loved Canada. Never did stand for blockades of words or native racism towards europeans who came to settle the lands in Alberta. He saw too many of his relatives complain with booze instead of getting a hair cut and getting a real job. The few that did work their way out of the handout life, returned to bring the family into the real life of being Canadian first.
