Noront is and always will be negotiating with somebody? Its the nature of the business. When the project gets OK to go then we all will see what we realy have besides the $5-10 billion Eaglesnest. Its sitting there, we know that, now we need to show we can get it out of the ground and to market. The less we pay for everybody to take rent and taxes the better. To do that would it be wise to start running around yelling how much we have. We have just enough right now, that is all anybody needs to know.
TORONTO, April 20 /CNW/ - Noront Resources Ltd. ("Noront" or the "Company") (TSX Venture: NOT) is pleased to announce that they have engaged the services of Micon International Limited. (Micon) as the lead consultant for the feasibility study on the McFaulds Lake Project.
Micon is recognized as an international leader in mineral project development, particularly in the areas of feasibility studies and developing technical reports supporting project financing. The main focus of the project will be the early development and operation of the Eagle's Nest nickel-copper-PGE deposit.
Noront, in conjunction with Micon, is reviewing proposals from other engineering firms with respect to various aspects of the project. Noront expects that the remaining engineering contractors on the project team will be engaged shortly and Noront will report on such selections as they occur. Although the other consultants will provide engineering in their specific area of expertise, Micon will review their work and include the findings in a comprehensive NI 43-101 report. This report is expected to be complete by early to mid 2011.
TORONTO, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Marten Falls First Nation and Webequie First Nation announced today that both communities have signed a Relationship Protocol with each other. The two Chiefs of the First Nations also signed a Letter of Intent with the two Ministers of Ministry of Northern, Mines, and Forestry and Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Relationship Protocol was signed by Chief Moonias of Marten Falls First Nation and Chief Wabasse of Webequie First Nation. The purpose of the Relationship Protocol is to begin joint discussions and collaborative planning on how to minimize impacts and maximize benefits for their community members within their adjacent traditional territories where the Ring of Fire mineral discoveries are located.
The Relationship Protocol reinforces the reality that companies and governments have to directly engage, consult, and accommodate the most directly affected First Nation communities. The Relationship Protocol begins to address issues and opportunities associated with the potential mine site and that the Chief Moonias and Chief Wabasse encourage the other regional First Nations to discuss how they will work together on regional infrastructure.
A Letter of Intent was also signed today by Chief Moonias of Marten Falls First Nation and Chief Wabasse of Webequie First Nation as well as Minister Jeffery and Minister Gravelle. The Letter of Intent supports that position that the directly impacted communities need to build relationships, build consensus, and build capacity at the local level.
