AT12 Summary:
Jeremy Niemi, Vice President, Geology for Noront Resources is the qualified person who prepared or supervised the preparation of the scientific and technical information disclosed herein.
AT-12 Anomoly
In July 2008, Noront discovered a third nickel, copper sulphide showing approximately nine kilometres northeast of the Eagle's Nest discovery. To December 31, 2009, a total of 30 holes (8,500 metres) have been completed at AT-12.
Drilling to date has indicated the presence of nickel. Copper, platinum and palladium ranging from several tens of metres averaging between 0.5 and 0.8% Ni with 0.2 to 0.3% Cu and minor Pt and Pd to several metres averaging up to 4% Ni and 3% Cu with higher Pt and Pd grades.
The company is currently planning a ground based geophysical survey at the AT-12 Anomaly in an effort to clarify the potential of this system to host an Eagle's Nest style deposit. Originally, the company had planned to complete SQUID surveys during the winter of 2009/10.
The First Nations blockade of the Koper Lake ice strip in January and February of 2010 delayed this survey. Noront is currently evaluating whether it is feasible to complete this survey during the summer season.
AT-12 continues to be a high priority target and the 2010 Budget includes plans to complete additional drilling during the summer field season. These holes will be surveyed using downhole geophysical tools.
