And speaking of a month, I'm back after that long of a vacation.
HGS, you said, "I still believe we need another heavy sell-off before this turns."
That brings up a good question. The overwhelming sentiment on the board right now seems to be that this stock is going lower. It seems to be widely felt that it will drop to the low nineties, and some even feel down to the $0.80 range. Some people look at this kind of commentary as bashing. Others look at this as a possible opportunity for profit, by selling now and buying back in lower.
We had the flow-through shares recently, which are effectively valued at around $0.80 because of tax implications. Perhaps someone more familiar with this area can let us know the exact value, because I assume this might vary slightly depending on where the company is incorporated and declares taxes, and might also vary by sector?
Anyway, here is my question: in a situation like this where FT shares are offered, how common is it for the market SP to drop all the way to the level of the effective cost of the FT offering? Because if there is a strong causality relationship there, then we could look at the effective cost of the FT in order to help assess the risk of trying to sell at this level and buy back in a few cents lower.
On a second note, there seems to have been some discussion about the railroad versus the winter road. Some people are favoring one versus the other. Some are saying that one or the other will "never be built" (that would be a problem for me, if the railway was never built, since I also have a heavy position in KWG). But why can't both means of access eventually be built? Can someone familiar with this issue comment on the probable odds of both versus one or the other type of access?
On a completely unrelated OT note, before I left, I mentioned that I was about to leave for a while in Argentina and Antarctica, and I'd be turning off Agoracom for a while. I did, and it was a nice break. But a lot of posters messaged me to ask for links to photos, especially from Antarctica. The scenery down there was absolutely unbelievable. For those of you who travel occasionally, I highly, highly recommend the trip if you ever get the chance (I went with Quark Expeditions). I have a large number of photos online, so for those of you who requested a link, the photo galleries can be seen here: http://www.djbolivia.ca/photos.html
