good evening BJ: Unfortunately this is repeated with every generation. My cousin was in the RCAF in 39 just in time for the battle of Britan. I imagine that most Britlanders haven't even given a thought on how close they came to not existing, thanks to them & the Royal Airforce destroying Hitlers air cover..

I, in turn, never thought of the civil war veteran's sacrifices. not even asked any of the vets anything. sigh.

Now it is my turn. I started with Guadalcanal in Aug, 11, 1942, and my grand kiddies have yet to ask me anything about it, just about my USAF, US Border Patrol, and later adventures exploring in the Pacific basin and Mexico.
