"Babjak appears to be onside with the present BOD and has stated that she will support them at the upcoming AGM."
Hi K. I receive those forms every week or so, sometimes twice or trice the very same forms since I may have positions in nonreg, reg, and also TSFA accounts. I usually take the forms, have a quick look at them, fill the litlle 'FOR' squares with black or blue ink, sign, date, insert them in one ('Save a tree') same envelope, lick the flap left to right (the occidental way), and mail it right away.
Sometimes, when I am larger invested in a stock, or in love with the management (it happens!), and the Meeting is just the other side of the bridge, I just put my name on the blank, and attend the AGM. But this time, I felt like a good idea that Babjak1, who once expressed the will to represent some retail voices at the AGM, be named as a proxy-holder. Annual General Meetings are most of the time boring, but having a specific voter in the rooms representing a few hundred or a million or two retail votes may have a certain effect and mean something.
I agree, K, trowing the proxies in the garbage can, or sending it to management, both do mean near to nothing. Management having a few proxies on the table bearing a retail lady name on them (the more she gets the best!), it will not change anything. But this retail lady taking part of her time, paying the parking, and going back home on the traffic hours after the meeting, ave if she only ask one oe two questions, and express her support to management in place, and wishing good luck to the 2010-11 Board... Well, I can't skip this opportunity of doing thing things different this time. The Board getting a smile from the lady, and the lady getting a smile from the Board... Retail power at work!
Why don't we all do that! We know that Babjak1 will do the work, and our Board will get support, delivered in person! Why not?!
Those who do not intend to vote 'AGAINST' on their proxies, however, just have to send their votes otherwise.
GLTA.
Babe.
