I continue to be surprised at the number of people anticipating a hostile takeover by CLF's or anyone else. Although there is good discussion on here, I remain convinced there is no take out in the works Shareholders Rights Plan or no SRP. The SP has bounced along in the mid to high teens (save a few day trade spikes) for 5 months now, there is no volume to lend evidence, CLF's is not flush with cash anymore, and where else is there any compelling evidence? Why risk additional finds and have to pay more when there has been ample opportunity before now. Besides, why would they not scoop $1.16 shares aplenty on the open market thereby showing volume increases? When the SP rises a bit "here we go there is an offer coming".......when it drops "here we go we are being held down for an offer"...... If anything the SRP indicates to me there will be a future operating agreement between CLF's and NOT whereby CLF's will buy or be given a small percentage (say 15%) and NOT will lean on them for protection, clout, finances and/or deflect any real outside threat. NOT is not in CLF's immediate plans....all IMO.
Best regards,
