Im getting the sense that this rumour is purely based on someone other than Cliffs making this move.

Good point on Cliffs most recent acquisition, their cash cupboards are bare. They could always offer shares up to do the any deal, and they would have the liquidity to pull that off...but I'd have to think they'd be getting spread thin with 3 acquisitions within a year or so.

Add that to the list of reasons why it would be a good opportunity to make a move to acquire Noront, for anybody who would ever be interested. Cliffs may not be able to step up to the plate if the price gets too high.

Maybe its a wag the dog scenario to serve as a diversion to keep the shareholders focused on other things rather than overthrowing the company? :)

It'll be an interesting week regardless.
