"The real irony here is that Cliffs may end up being the "White Knight"."
I'm trying to remember the poster that wrote that NOT would be approached by a company that wouldn't be CLF by Aug. 16 guaranteed. Well Aug. 16 has passed but this coming week would only be a week late if there is any truth to this rumour.
I have suspected that the repressive action on NOTs sp over a long period of time was clearly an aid to low balling a bid for NOT. At the recent mid 1.20's this is an exceedingly ridiculous price on which to base NOT's buyout value. We are and have been barely over the price that FWR was taken for with our mammoth land package and smorg. of minerals. I don't like the fact that investors over the last few years and months have been conditioned to think that they need to grab bits of cash in this unfriendly economy and to run instead of seeking fair value for their ROI. I wonder how many die hard NOTsters have been replaced by unfriendly cash grabbers if not the allies of the would be thieves in the night themselves. I am most assured that many plunders have and will be perpetrated by the laughing wealthy who have the masses right where they want them....living in fear. The rumours may be premature or false with nothing to worry about presently, but when they do present an offer to NOT, who ever they are, I will do my part in holding my shares until either I see a price I can be happy with or they are pried from my account. I will only begin to smile when I see the number 6.... and the number 7 might begin to create a faint gleam in my eyes. If I don't see those, perhaps I'll ask Herbert who that chap was who can obtain that rather large vehicle with those tractor like treads.
Finally, I wonder if management have enough shares to make a low ball worth their while. Have to look into those options again.
