You posted,"The painfull truth is both were sold to low because retail sold out, WE all have our reasons to sell but if we stick to our guns and demand more eventually those who need us will pay."
Now, I would like to humbly point out a very real fact regarding "retail". Most of the retail shareholders don't have a clue as to what is going on with their stocks...
Pretty bold statement, eh??? Let me explain my theory... Those who helped out during the proxy battle when they "dethroned the king" (Richard Nemis, who's company this was rightfully!!!) had many a comment regarding their conversations with the shareholders on the list, namely retail... A LOT of the retail shareholders had NO IDEA as to what was going on when they were called. Imagine if you invested your money with such and such broker because your father and his father had done so for generations... You just invest because that is what your family has done for a long time. This is the sense that I got reading the analysis of those who made all those calls for our last BOD and Mr. Nemis. Many of those shareholders simply did not know the issues. They don't come to agoracom to read about their investments on a daily or weekly basis like a lot of the posters do here... They don't really care as they might have 3 or 4% of their portfolio invested in a very diversified manner...
So, blaming retail for selling out is a much more complicated statement than just pointing fingers... A lot of people who see the "large" shareholders deciding to sell, or the president of the company suggesting to submit your shares to the buyout will simply put their faith in what they are told and do so...
Right or wrong, I really don't think that the knowledge gleaned on these "chat forums" is what most people make their investing decisions on, and those that do so will probably not be investing for very long as most of these forums posters are not here to make "YOU" money, with a few exceptions, of course (thanks Larry, appreciate the tip on GNH).
So, just making a blanket statement that retail is to blame is a little misleading, in my opinion. There is much more to investing than "going with the crowd" and making your millions like everyone else. There are many traders on these forums that will explain the flaw in that philosophy...
So, will Noront get sold out for a song??? It shouldn't, but we will have to see. Now, if we get an offer for Noront and management does nothing to boost our share price (like not releasing news in a timely fashion, including VISUALS if this was the case), then sure, we may get taken out for a much lower share price than is really fair... Hey, Aurelian was "sold out" according to my reading as they held back good results until after the sale was completed... I would expect that our management team would NOT do this... even there could be a very similar scenario develop. Think about this, the government of Peru makes some waves and announces new laws regarding exploration etc... It sure would be interesting to see the "off shore" accounts of those in power at that time today, eh??? Now, fast forward to today and think about developing a similar "problem", say with the indigenous peoples who have lived "close to the site"... Now, see how many shareholders run for the exits...
Just saying, things can be "made to look a lot worse" than they really are. Media can be "manipulated", if you are smarter than them. And don't forget, the media wants News, which tends to be 'controversial' rather than feels good stuff, so, what do you think the media would rather report on???
Anyway, it is what it is. We will see what the eventual price for our little Noront will be when the offer is made, not a minute before...
Just my 2 cents worth...
God Bless all Noront Investors.
