Message: Doubtful of a takeover

I think a lot of people on this forum are actually hoping for a take over to come in with these low SP levels. I have to ask: Why?

A surprise hostile takeover bid at these prices might result in a tripling in current SP. Whoop-dee-do. Not even close to what I want, nor what you should accept. And I am sure that our institution friends would like a lot more too.

With the recent activities involving FWR and SPQ, the entire ROF has gained experience. Or I sure hope that they have.

If there was any inkling of a pending take over, I think that the media would be virtually overwhelmed with a flood of news releases, in an attempt to dramatically increase the share price. And I believe that this is the reason that some of the news is being held back - as a tool.

So what is my guess related to the latest NR? I suspect that neither company wanted to spend money drilling on these JV properties at the moment, as was called for in the JV agreement. I believe that Probe has significant chromite deposits and is looking to focus on packaging them for sale, while Noront has said in the past that they are interested is selling their chromite properties to concentrate on nickel and other metals. Win-win.

We are in August now, one of the last nice months in Canada. The markets are very quiet, and even the execs are on vacation. My advice to you would be to follow suit, and ignore the daily, trivial ups and downs of a stock trading at such low volume.

It will be snowing soon enough, and the serious drilling of AT12 and other sites will be possible. Good times are on the way.
