Greetings TMLeafs,
The example you gave of how you were treated is easy to believe. I have witnesed the distain that NOT has for retail shareholders several times and it was not just JJ.
However JJ is supposed to be the face of the company just as Peter Ball is at CMM and Sasha is at GNH.
They are there to do positive public relations not to look down their nose at shareholders.
Yes I can understand that it could be a frustrating job, as one poster pointed out, but that is what you are hired to do. You are supposed to have experience and be good at PR. You know what you are getting into before you apply for the job
As IR person, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen...and perhaps that is what she did.
There has been poor relations between NOT and retail shareholders since the proxy battle and we all know it. It did not improve much after the new slate took over.
This may not be a fair comparison but I have always marvelled at what it would have been like if Jim Voisin was handeling the IR for NOT. He spent many years in the role of IR before he became President of UC.
Jim is a professional at human relations. He never looks down at anyone and there are no stupid questions. You always leave a conversation with Jim feeling like you were important to him. This is the sign of a true professional. Ian Brodie-Brown is much the same.
The purpose of this forum is to share POSITIVE information not to do character assasinations. However I did not like the way people were attacking you on this issue. Perhaps if they had been in your shoes they would have known how she made you feel.
