How many have contacted their member of Ontario Legislature about the government investing in infrastructure in northern Ontario and the Ring of Fire in particular.
We Ontarians should be one of the first on this forum to be pushing for such investment. It is investment in the future of this province.
With the down turn in the global economy and in particulat the US. ( I blame the US for most of the trouble and the results to the rest of the world are mostly due to off loading by USA of the bad practices that they produced through fraudulent reporting and ratings.)
Ontario ( and I mostly mean southern Ontario, I live in southern and we southerners often speak as if we were Ontario. Sorry northerners, Mea Culpa.) depended on manufacturing jobs whose products were mostly destined to the US. Well now many of those jobs are history. As a partial result from that Ontario government is in budget deficit.
What the government needs to do is stimulate job production.
Manufacturing jobs that were lost are a hopeless task.

BUT northern jobs based on forestry and mining could and Should be a boom. The only thing that slows that progress is insufficient leadership, investment and encouragment from our government.

We as Ontario citizens can do a lot to get us onto the correct path to prosperity.
