Message: Re: Wes Hanson focuses on Eagle’s Nest

With all this discussion on the merits of a winter road versus a railroad, it is obvious that none here have ever been involved in the construction of a railroad in this kind of environment.

The hard fact is that in order to build a railroad from Nakina to the ROF area will absolutely require at the least to have a winter road access, if for nothing else than to move the required heavy equipment into the area for construction of it. I believe there would be 2 major bridges required and the lead time on their engineering and construction would far exceed that needed for roadbed construction.

Also development of a mining operation and all ancilliary projects such as a mill would require ntheir construction in a manner that they would be ready for production upon completion of the rail link.

IMHO, we will see a winter road completed first, with a railroad to follow. If Wes is pushing for anything, it may be to get funding for the road first, and deal with the railroad later.

Best regards
