Message: More Triple J Gold

Oct. 27, 2009 NR:

Jeremy Niemi, Noront's Vice President of Exploration notes: "The gold mineralization at the Triple J zone provides further evidence of the mineralogical diversity and economic potential of our properties. We consider this zone to be another long-term target for the Noront exploration team and a positive indication of our ability to identify additional mineralized zones on our extensive land holding in the Ring of Fire.

Although today´s NR was very positive on Triple J, they quoted the following highlights:

Triple J Highlights:

  • NOT-08-1G013 sample 458843 intersected 1.5 metres averaging 18.3 gpt
  • NOT-09-1G138 sample 530242 intersected 1.0 metre averaging 2.07 gpt
  • NOT-08-1G039 sample 594372 intersected 1.0 metres averaging 1.92 gpt

It would have been nice to include some more "highlights" from the table provided with this NR, which would confirm a much stronger potential for a large high-tonnage, low grade deposit as a nice by-product to all our Nickel, Platinum, Palladium, Copper, Chromite and Silver in the Eagle´s Nest Complex:

The following intervalls look more than promising for a nice robust gold zone and could have been highlighted as well:

NOT-08-1G013: 20.00 m @ 1.61 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G020: 16.90 m @ 1.75 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G021: 22.70 m @ 0.69 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G022: 24.85 m @ 0.72 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G038: 26.40 m @ 1.03 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G039: 54.00 m @ 0.61 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G047: 12.58 m @ 1.10 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G051: 64.07 m @ 0.41 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G058: 14.70 m @ 1.71 gpt Au

NOT-08-1G062: 14.75 m @ 1.13 gpt Au

Wes stated in the Oct. 27, 2009 NR:

"The discovery of a discrete gold zone is further evidence of the robust potential of the Ring of Fire district. Gold has long been associated as part of our high grade nickel copper sulphide discoveries but until now, had not been identified as a distinct zone of mineralization." Mr. Hanson added: "No drilling is currently planned for the Triple J zone at this time. The Company's immediate objective remains the aggressive resource expansion at Eagle's Nest which is ongoing as of the date of this press release."

So, Eagle´s Nest had gold and now we have an additional distinct gold zone with minimum 1 km in length and 300 m depth.

Very telling that they didn´t plan any drilling @ Triple J back in October, but are very keen now to do additional work after having confirmed the potential of this interesting zone with very promising results.

Looking forward to more geological work on Triple J and a PLANNED drill program to confirm the economic potential (at a time with Gold @ $1235 !).
