Non - Nickel Credits

posted on Apr 14, 2010 04:38PM

I read somewhere that Vale produced (processing, refining, smelting) nickle for about $6.7 a pound in Canada in 2009 before PGE credits.

The PGE credits were worth about $3/lbd, making the cost of producing nickle (before operations, etc) about $3.7/lbd.

Does anybody know offhand, ballpark, the relative value of NOT PGE's vrs Vale PGE's? Is a $3 PGE credit reasonable for NOT nickle? Thanks in advance.
