Spoke to a pilot who works in the ROF. Blockade has done its damage. Temperatures in that neck of the woods have reached as high as 10C this past week. Opinion seems to be that spring will arrive about 1 month earlier than normal, if this keeps up. There might be a one week or so stretch of cold weather left, but that will leave a small window for clean-up from winter drilling, for those few companies that are drilling (and apparently, not all activity ceased because of the blockade).
Feeling is the real issue here was the shutting down of the airstrip by the Ministry because of permitting issues. That triggered the native blockade.
