Good morning Tau. Down here they have been expermenting with using fine tailings to backfill. When through with an area, they simply block it off leaving a large diameter plastic pipe which extends to the end of the area, then pump a loose consolidating mixture with some coarser materiel, cement , clay ??? to completely refill that specified area, commencing from the impermeable barrier and working back to the face of that working, which soon contributes greatly to stabilizlization. Obviously it has severe limitations for delivery, but where useable, forms a permanent strengthening structure.

Others use it as a base for structural materiel. Which can be used in the surrounding communities. A possible side benefit where there is scarcity of building materiel such as up at the ROF.
