I suppose it's neither here nor there but I think that Cliffs may have previous history of mining in Northern Ontario. At least there was a Cliffs of Canada that operated and closed down the Adams Mine in Kirkland Lake and the Sherman Mine in Temegami - both iron mines. The only record I could find is at this link:
