From what I am hearing Xtrata may possibly go on strike in Sudbury at the end of January. Vale of course is still on strike there since last summer. I am hearing that at Xtrata there is a real wild card since there about 625 Xtrata workers in Sudbury on lay-off and it appears they have a vote on any tentative contract. Xtrata has promised to call back about 200 of them if the contract is ratified but who knows how any of them will vote especially the 400 that don't have much hope of being called back.
Anyway this could have some impact on the price of nickel. Also ideally I think these strike situations in Sudbury will have to be over before the bidding can begin on NOT. JMHO.
