This year, with TD, I opened a TFSA and my wife did the same.

Now, my wife has not done any trading, so she had to open a (cash) trading account before she could open a TFSA.

Then, if I recall correctly, I transferred shares to my wife's cash account, and then she tranferred the shares from there into her TFSA. I also tranferred shares from my cash account to my TFSA, to the $5000 limit.

Plan to do the same exercise in about 2 weeks, before the government wakens up to the revenue they are missing. Or, they could make the whole TFSA thing meaningless, and just abolish capital gains.

Fat chance. LOL
