Well, first it confirms that there exists provincial jurisdiction as to how TFSA are disposed. So any conclusion we reach here is subject to each province's rules and regulations.

My interpretation is that they would have no tax liability for the beneficiary but the TFSA should cease to exist. I have no regulation to hang my hat on but this would seem logical to me.

I will have a talk with my CA and see what his thoughts are.
