Here's how our friend over at TC see's the fund buying

This is Ben, the first insto caller from Monday's conference call.

He complained that he didn't like Cliffs deal and had 8M shares and would likely vote with Noront. This was probably a pose to get the best offer out of Cliffs.

I suspect since then he's changed his mind, been 'sweetened' and signed a lock out with Cliffs..

That's why he bought another 6M today. He just made 200K by signing them over to Cliffs. It's a no brainer for his style of trading.

I think he has it right $300K to $500K for a couple of days work just before Christmas, anything to keep them out of NOT's hands (maybe)
