NORONT CLARIFIES DISCLOSURE WITH RESPECT TO BLACKBIRD CHROMITE DEPOSIT

Noront Resources Ltd., at the request of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, has retracted the estimated mine life and revenue projections for the Blackbird chromite deposit as disclosed in its press release in Stockwatch of Dec. 9, 2008, as these projections are not supported by an independent economic analysis.
