No Surface Tailings??

Noront's news that a central shaft could be used to mine the Eagle's Nest (Copper/Nickel/Platinum/Palladium), Triple J Gold Zone and the BlackBird chromite deposits presents the intriguing possibility to accelerate the permitting process by eliminating a surface sulphide tailings deposit.

Mining high grade direct shipping chromite will leave large voids in the mine.

Mining operations between all three zones could scheduled to utilize a backfill system that would both stabilize the mine workings and eliminate the need for a surface tailings area.
