A point of clarification, the bands in the area of northern ontario are varied but have come together over the years and in fact many are referred to or even refer to themsleves as Oji-Cree. They are also called Anishinaabe (first peoples), which includes Ojibwa (Chippewa), Algonqin, Odawa, Potawatomi and the Oji-Cree to name a few. What Noront has done with agreements (see April 09 PR) and hiring a VP of first nations relationships is exceptional and leading edge. Any attempt to downplay or belittle what they have done is border line bashing.......
