This isn't intended to offend anyone, just to recognize that these sites, although useful to us as individuals by giving us ideas we may not have come up with on our own, therefore providing us with more information to make personal decisions about... are largely distractions and don't impact the proceedings that we are witnessing presently to any great extent. Yes we may serve as a barometer for investor sentiment to a degree but we figure rather less prominently on the overall scale of investors most of whom never read these blogs. My point is to express that your involvement here amounts to something more personal, not withstanding the golf games or bar room meetings after AGMs. It's not to say that your involvement isn't important to you or to others who read your post, it's to say that it may not be what your emotional involvement has lead you to believe is real. We tend to get sucked into momentums and the weight of our own thoughts and then the arguments that ensue and the need to be right or get more points than someone else (we like to be popular don't we?) which help us to feel like we are more right than we were a moment ago. I was thinking tonight how I have gained much from reading the posts of others, a wealth of ideas I would never have come up with on my own. It has been a pleasure to converse with many of you and learn from you and realize the talents that so many of you have, talents perhaps you take for granted because you just do it. Some of you are incredibly analytical and love research. Some of you are fanatics at calculation and working out values. It is amazing to me how different people can be and not really be aware of what it is that makes them different because it's simply who they are. I'm tired of reading the nonsense that is contributed by the misguided or simply the stubborn whose role in life is to simply supply opposition not only here but everywhere else they go. It's just what they do. They are what they are and we simply have to tolerate it to a degree to maintain peace. Everyone knows one in the family or the work place.... but it doesn't make it any less tiring. So here we all are waiting for something to happen to add excitement and value to our lives. Chances are that after it happens, most will continue to do what they do and either add value to the lives of others or simply add "challenge". I'm hoping that we insignificant folks on these sites will take our gains in the end and go out there and do something significant, jettison away from all of the bickering and competitiveness and develop perspective that bring wealth beyond cash and things. Is it realistic? Yes ..... and no. But a least in part there is a yes. I can live with that. Good folks out there.... you know who you are.... God bless you.
