Message: Re: Noront's Next Move - Or will there be one?

Someone just asked me what the next move will be in this battle for Freewest.

Off course that is the question that is on the minds of everyone. My opinion and 25 cents may or may not buy you a coffee.

One possibility is as this title suggests. Noront has actually accomplished their objectives. They have forced a major to enter the race and the world's attention is now on the Ring of Fire.

Noront knows that they can not compete with Cliffs financially for Freewest. They may just fold the tent and concentrate on Eagle One. They have good assay results that will continue to drive up the NOT sp.

Noront knows that all the majors are now focused on the ring and sooner or later another major will enter the race. This has been expedited by Noronts hostile bid for FWR and Cliffs response.

However there is likely more to be gained by continuing the fight and very little to lose.

Noront knows that Cliffs offer is a low ball offer and that Cliffs is prepared to bid higher. Indeed their own offer was just an opening salvo designed to flush out the other suitors. Other suitors are in the wings and may well be enticed to jump into the game by further action.

Cliffs offer as it stands is likely not that attractive to investors. Many see it as only marginally better than the NOT offer and many are not anxious to hold Cliffs shares. Besides is the New Freewest really worh 15 cents?

Noront could make some very simple changes to their offer that would clearly tip the scale in their favour and yet not break the bank. This would force Cliffs to play their next trump card, thereby giving Noront a better picture of what Cliffs entire hand is likely to hold.

There are many possibility's, many of which none of us have considered. Trying to predict the next move is a fools game.
