The First Point Mineral property is a nickel-iron property both of which are inputs into stainless steel. Cliffs seems to want to stay in their niche in the steel industry and at least so far has shown no sign of interest in NOT's other metals at the Eagle's Nest. The First Point Mineral property has nickel-iron ore that is low sulphur and highly magnetic. The extraction process would likely be quite different than for NOT's sulphide ore which would more likely be compatible with the smelters in Sudbury.
