BB, this makes perfect sense, but I thought I'd call CRA to double check it. Talked to a Senior agent. She didn't know. So I explained the logic of it all and she agreed but could not confirm. At that point, I said goodbye and will ask for someone that is familiar with capital gains at CRA. And this is the organization that taxes us and collects money. Yikes !
