If the NOT/FWR deal is going to take place it must send a clear message to FWR that to pitch in with NOT is an absolute win situation. The latter would require, as many have said, that the NOT sp would have to rise significantly to affect a significant value added for the 4 to 1 deal. I don't feel that assays have the ability to bring this about presently but I do feel the announcement of an agreement with NOT and a very significant major would do exactly that. What would happen if NOT announced that they have gone into partnership with ________? You fill in the blank. The above commentary is purely speculation and one of hundreds of possiblilities.

It's been mentioned too many times to count that buy-in over time would be a good way for a major to hedge their bets as many see CLF apparently doing. A major could buy in at levels that don't hamstring them financially but allow them to grow/increase their investment as they see the risk drop lower.
