If I were trying to make a deal with another company's management, I would try to do it outside of work hours and on a weekend if possible to have plenty of time for negotiations before the decision was presented to the rest of the management and shareholders.
I suspect that if there was a possibility of a leak of a potential deal that the exchange might require a trade halt. I would not want that hanging over my head when I am in negotiation mode.
More important, if you are making a big deal with some one, you set aside your personal interests, even vacations, to do it. I suspect many a deal is made on golf course grounds or in fancy bars.
There is no excuse that it does not fit in my schedule. Too important an issue.
